Questions about design and development
What to clarify before you start working with a studio.
01
How long does a project take?
A brand identity usually takes 4–8 weeks, a company website 6–10 weeks, and an app or platform 8–16 weeks or more. We agree on a plan once the task, integrations and materials are clear.
02
How is the cost determined?
We estimate the breakdown of work, the complexity of the user flows and the stages required. Starting prices are in rand on our pricing page, excluding VAT where applicable, and assumptions and extra tasks are discussed before we start.
03
Who will own the code and the design?
Once payment is made in full and both parties have met their obligations, all rights to the design and code belong to you. The handover procedure is set out in the contract.
04
What happens after launch?
We can agree on support, hosting and further improvements. The scope of services and response times are agreed separately.
05
How do you work across time zones?
We set calls in your working hours and agree on channels at the start and record important decisions in writing.
06
Can we sign an NDA?
Yes, on request. If you need one, ask for it before you share confidential materials.
07
Can we start with a small task?
We can discuss an audit, a prototype or the first stage of a product. First we will define a result that makes sense within your budget.
08
What if we already have a contractor?
Tell us which tasks they handle and where you need help. We will agree on areas of responsibility, access and how results are handed over.
